Andrea Christensen joined her family insurance agency, H.N. Christensen Co.,Inc. in 1974 while still in high school and hasn’t looked back. Since then she has served on the board of The San Anselmo Chamber of Commerce, The Agents Council for General Accident Insurance Co., as a past President of The Rotary Club of Ross Valley (in which she is now an honorary member as the first female member admitted to this club), past president of the Liberty School Foundation for Education and past president of Project Graduation for Petaluma High School. She is currently vice president of Petaluma High School Project Graduation and a member of the Executive Committee of ProVisors Lark I and Group Leader of ProVisors Santa Rosa 2. Andrea has spoken on the topic of insurance at various community meetings and at Santa Rosa Junior College and written articles about insurance for local publications. With her experience serving on many boards for non-profit entities, Andrea is passionate about helping nonprofit organizations with their insurance needs. She also writes personal and commercial insurance for both individuals and businesses. A native of Marin county and resident of Sonoma county for nearly 40 years, Andrea enjoys time with her family as well as photography, crafting, water skiing, camping and hiking.

John Ranis

 John Ranis began his insurance career in 1977 at his father’s insurance agency in Foster City, Ca. In 1984 he worked with Fleming Foods as a Commercial Underwriter for their ‘captive’ grocery store insurance program. In 1986 when Fleming Foods moved their insurance operations out of California, he joined Holtemann, Ord & Smith, Inc. as a Commercial Account Supervisor supervising agency personnel and Fireman’s Fund C.O.S. agency authority program for accounts over $250,000.00 in annual premium. John’s insurance career shifted from underwriting and service to sales when he joined H.N. Christensen Co., Inc. in 1988. John is a past president of Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of Marin (1994 – 1996), and a past charter (founding) secretary of Rotary Club of Novato Sunrise (1995-1996). A Marin County native and Sonoma County resident for over 40 years, John is also a guitarist with the Sonoma County-based band, Rock and Roll Rhythm Revue.

Janelle Robello is a fourth generation insurance agent and a fifth generation Californian. Her maternal great grandfather, Harry Christensen, was the founder of the original insurance agency, and in the 1940s her paternal great grandparents moved from Italy to Petaluma, where the family established the well-known Lombardi’s Market, and later, Lombardi’s Men’s and Boy’s Store on Petaluma Boulevard. Janelle graduated from Sonoma State University in 2006, and soon afterward she joined her family’s business as a personal lines agent. A Sonoma county league MVP for basketball in her senior year of high school, Janelle devoted several years to coaching AAU, NJB, and girl’s basketball in Petaluma, but now devotes her “free” time to raising her two three young children alongside her husband Aaron.

Karen’s insurance career began in 1985 and she has held positions as an office manager, personal lines customer service representative as well as our bookkeeper and all around “go to” person. Karen joined Suncoast Insurance in 1989 as a bookkeeper and has been assisting many of our clients since then. She has guided the agency through its evolution from the ”pegboard system” to DOS based computer systems, and now to our current cloud-based accounting system. Karen’s patience in dealing with financial matters makes her a valued asset to H.N. Chritensen Insurance. Karen and her family reside in Petaluma.
